In Loving Memory of Paul Caron (1936-2025)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Caron on August 15, 2025, at the age of 89. Paul died peacefully in his sleep after a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer.

Paul was the beloved husband of Denise Caron, devoted father to Christopher and David (Grace) Caron, and proud grandfather to Cassandra, Erica, Adam, and Michael Caron. He was the cherished son of Harry and Dorothy Caron, loving brother to Heather Caron (predeceased), and uncle to Lindiwe Caron.

A dedicated high school teacher for many decades, Paul inspired and guided hundreds of students, earning their admiration and respect. Outside the classroom, his life was filled with music, joy, and generosity. He loved playing his tuba and accordion for “the old folks” in seniors’ homes, right up until he himself became a resident in long term care.

Paul had a deep love for his family, he was a great dad to Christopher and David and a wonderful “Bumpa” to his 4 grandchildren. He loved to be in the garden with Denise , and was lucky to have traveled to many parts of the world with Denise. He was known for his quick wit, warm laugh, and ability to bring smiles to those around him. He considered himself a fortunate man, and we know all who knew him considered themselves fortunate to have him in their lives.

As per Paul and Denise’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral. The family will gather privately for a celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Paul’s legacy of love, laughter, music, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

    Good bye, old friend.
You can be so proud of a life well-lived during which you took advantage of every interest and challenge that came your way. Everything and anything … sailing, car rallying, musical instruments, exchange teaching, fine carpentry, gardening … except a life-long aversion to eating fish or fowl!
Above all a deep and abiding love for his high school sweetheart and life-long partner, Denise with whom his life was complete.
We shared, not only high school, university, career memories and raising families but also the closeness of having each other as best men at our weddings and of sharing so many aspects of our lives.
Rest in peace, dear friend. We were so privileged to have had you in our lives.
    With cherished memories,
    Bob, Eleanor & Family

You were an amazing dad. You were an equally amazing grandfather (Bumpa). We were very fortunate to have you in our lives as long as we did. You were my hero. I love you. You will be missed every day. Your son, David xoxo
