Gregory Brook, born July 22, 1948, in Meaford, Ontario, passed away suddenly on February 26, 2026, at Guelph General Hospital.

Originally from Meaford, Greg lived in several communities throughout his life, including Fordwich, Palmerston, Elgin, and Guelph. He was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Dorothy Brook, his beloved wife Pamela Yates, and two grandsons.

Greg is survived by his siblings, Lynne Herbert and Tom Brook. He was father to Derek (Kelly) Brook, Chad Brook, and Andrea Brook, and a caring stepfather to Susan Yates and Lisa Breslin. His grandchildren affectionately knew him as “Grumpy.” Greg was a proud grandfather to Amber (Dave) Wood, Brandi (Pete) Allen, Daniel Reid, Monica Reid, and Marina Reid, and Alexis, Taylor, and Marcus Breslin. He was great-grandfather to Jorden, Jade, Jenson, Finley, and Mason.

He was also grandfather to Shayla-Raye, Austin, Tatiyana, Demitrius, Milicianna, Jahvarius and great-grandfather to Ella, Logan, Kaison, Rosey, Taliyah, and Bruce.

Greg was a skilled welder who dedicated more than thirty years of service to Hammonds Manufacturing. Outside of work, he was an avid reader who enjoyed completing word searches and could often be found tinkering in the garage or working on his latest project around the house. Whether riding his motorcycle on the open road, hunting, hiking through the woods in search of puffballs or wild fruit, Greg found his greatest peace in nature.

Greg’s quiet presence, stubborn determination, and steadfast nature left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
